Nine kilometres west of Nannup off the Mowen Road, Barrabup Pool is a natural formation in St. John's Brook, a perennial stream running into the Blackwood River.
Facilities include toilets, barbecues, picnic tables, swimming, canoeing, fishing and marroning in season.
Barrabup is the site of an old timber mill and town (1908). A concrete formation visible on the western side of Barrabup Pool Road is the Old Mill Office Strongroom, all that remains of a once-thriving town.Barrabup Pool

The delightful Blackwood River which flows through the south west of the State offers some excellent scenic walk trails along its banks.
The Blackwood is the largest river in the south west and begins its journey near the wheat belt town of Wagin, before flowing through Boyup Brook, Bridgetown and Nannup to its final meeting place at the coastal waters of Augusta.

Around the southern corner of Western Australia there are quite a number of people who really believe that in the Nannup Tiger.
Firstly and most importantly, the Nannup Tiger is not a Bengal Tiger, nor even a relation of that famed Black and Yellow striped feline. St. John's Brook is approximately nine kilometres west of Nannup. This historic area was one of the original sawmill settlements in the area and boasts a history of significance in the early settlement of Nannup.
The area has a magnificent regrowth forest, large fresh water pools, and walking trails taking you through the regrowth jarrah along the path of the St. John's Brook.
