Bendigo Olive Fiesta

The Bendigo Olive Fiesta will showcase many of Australia`s best olive growers` produce. To be held at the historic Bendigo Pottery, it will carry a Mediterranean theme. The event promises to provide a day of fun and entertainment for the whole family. An olive oil and olive competition is a major part of this event with an industry dinner being held on the Saturday evening at the Bendigo Pottery to announce the winners of the different classes of olive oil and olive. The presenter for the night will be recognised chef Stefano de Peiri. On Sunday 2nd March, 2008, the Fiesta will showcase local produce, olive trees will be for sale, local wineries, entertainment with a Mediterraen flavour, a pip spitting contest and some great food. Additionally, workshops are to be held on topics such as pickling olives, what types of trees to grow for different purposes, and workshops aimed at the industry including exporting information.
