The Underground Opera Company is pleased to announce their return to the Central Deborah Gold Mine Bendigo, Victoria. Central Deborah will provide the most unique, intimate Opera and light opera concert you will have ever experienced, with some of the best voices you will have heard, in an environment you may never have seen.


The Underground Opera Company is pleased to present the talents of National and International performers Sophie Wotton (Opera Qld), Eleanor Varnes (Opera Qld), Brett Holland (Opera Qld) and Glenn Lorimer (Scottish National Opera Co./ London Opera Co.) with the sensational John Woods on piano.


The Central Deborah Gold Mine presents the audience with one of the most unique and intimate opera experiences of their lives as they don a hard hat and travel 61 meters down the shaft into a once operational gold mine. A short stroll will see them at the entrance of the performance chamber and greeted with a complimentary glass of wine. The venue will be completely licensed with delectable canap s served during the interval. All audience members will be accompanied to the performance venues by informative staff members and wheelchair access is no problem. Make the occasion as formal or as casual as you like but sensible footwear is recommended.


This is an opportunity to experience artist at the top of there field with no amplification, effects, bells or whistles; just pure voices resonating where mining machines once roared. An incredible experience in an extraordinary environment is what the Underground Opera Company has achieved!
