Highland Trails

Highland Trails is the ultimate Tasmanian horse trail riding experience. Choose the ride that suits you-anything is possible.
You don`t have to be an expert rider, we will provide basic instructions on how to ride and control your horse. If you would prefer to start off in the safety of indoors, an arena is available to those beginners or in the case of bad weather.
The area surrounding Staverton is ideal for horse riding. There are bush tracks, quiet roads, horse trails and uncharted bush, traversing mostly private property and Crown land. Staverton is located about an hours drive from Cradle Mountain, 30 minutes drive from Devonport and ten minutes from Sheffield.
The rides take in the area bounded by the triple peaks of Mt. Roland, Mt van Dyke and Mt. Claude, the Forth River and Lake Barrington.
Rides from one hour, a day, weekends, or longer are available by arrangement. Meals and accommodation can be provided. Meals cater for all tastes and can include camp oven cooked roasts, local mountain river fish delicacies and Tasmanian bred steaks.
