Discover the Leven Cruises provide river cruises, bushwalks and wildlife viewing in north west Tasmania.
A range of river cruises, walks, wildlife tours and the opportunity to enjoy an authentic Tasmanian barbecue are available through Discover the Leven Tours. The three experiences include Jus’ Leven Today, Jus’ Leven Now, and Jus’ Leven Tomorrow. All tours are aboard a punt vessel named Jus’ Leven, seating up to 16 adults, and range from short through to longer wilderness adventures up the Leven River in Ulverstone. Longer trips include a guided tour of a 31 acre fauna and flora sanctuary established in 1890. Here, you can unwind while a delicious three course barbecue is served to you in a barbecue shelter surrounded by grand Blackwoods and ferns.
Charter rates are available for large groups. It is best to book at the Ulverstone Visitor Information Centre as limited tickets are available.

Jus’ Leven Today Tour
Jus’ Leven Today offers 4.5 hours of guided river cruising on the Leven and Gawler Rivers including a guided tour of a peaceful forest reserve where you will find towering man ferns and Eucalypts. As you journey up the river, your knowledgeable guide will share the cultural and natural history of the area. Button grass plains upstream give the Leven River its tea-coloured water, providing beautiful mirrored reflections. You will arrive at the Leven Park Reserve and ‘Meet the Natives’ in an exclusive tour of the region’s fascinating flora and fauna in a reserve which has been enjoyed for more than 100 years. It is here you will be served a delicious three course barbecue, prepared on site. Listen to mysterious stories of the Leven as you journey back to Tasma Parade in Ulverstone where a visit to Henslowes Park Fauna and Flora Reserve may occur depending on the tide.
Jus’ Leven Now Tour
Jus’ Leven Now is a shorter tour, departing from the public pontoon in Tasma Parade in Ulverstone. For two hours your knowledgeable guide will reveal the beauty of the Leven River aboard the Jus’ Leven vessel. Learn about the cultural and natural history of the Leven Catchment as you journey up this picturesque river in Tasmania’s north west. Button grass plains upstream give the Leven River its tea-coloured water, providing beautiful mirrored reflections. On the return voyage, listen to mysterious stories of the Leven River as you glide peacefully across its waters.
