The Forest EcoCentre is a forest interpretation centre at Scottsdale, northeast Tasmania.
The Forest EcoCentre features a complex multi-media interpretation system. Interactive displays showcase many aspects of northeast Tasmania`s forests, including their ecology, management, unique fauna and cultural heritage.
The Forest EcoCentre is contained within an ecologically sustainable building, the first of its type in the southern hemisphere. The elegant `building within a building` - designed by award-winning Hobart architect Robert Morris-Nunn - is expected to use 80 per cent less energy than a conventional building of the same size.
Scottsdale is an hour’s drive northeast of Launceston (63 kilometres/39 miles).
