Kangaroo Island Day Tour

Spend a day touring Kangaroo Island with Petra`s Tailor Made Tours who specialise in English and German speaking, small group tours of South Australia with personalised itineraries to suit your needs

The special service, our guests can expect on the Kangaroo Island Day Tour include pick up from your accommodation in Adelaide at 6am. From there you will be chauffeur driven to the Adelaide Airport, Emu Airways Terminal for your departure to Kingscote at 7.05am, arriving on Kangaroo Island at 7.45am. Our tour will be conducted in a well equipped, comfortable and air conditioned four wheel drive vehicle. Seal Bay Conservation Park will be our first stop on Kangaroo Island. Here you will experience a unique encounter with an Australian Sea-lion colony. Next we take you to the spectacular sand dunes of Little Sahara. These sand dunes are totally surrounded by native Australian bush. They provide a spectacular view and are fun to explore. A catered barbecue lunch along the way is provided. On Koala Avenue we have the opportunity to view one of Australia’s icons, the koala. We will be able to see them in their habitat and natural environment. A trip to Kangaroo Island is not complete without a visit to Flinders Chase National Park. This is one of the biggest National Parks in Australia with 74,000 hectare of pure beauty. Admirals Arch, home of the New Zealand Fur seals and a group of weather formed granite rocks known as Remarkable Rocks, are the highlights of this park. Departure for your return flight to Adelaide will be at 6.35pm and you will be back at your accommodation in Adelaide at around 7.30pm.

Barossa Valley Day Tour

Spend a day touring the Barossa Valley with Petra`s Tailor Made Tours who specialise in English and German speaking, small group tours of South Australia with personalised itineraries to suit your needs

The special service, our guests can expect on the Barossa Valley Day Tour include pick up from your accommodation in Adelaide at 8.30am. We then drive the scenic route to the Barossa Valley through Torrens Gorge and along various water reservoirs. Kangaroo Creek Water Reservoir will be our first stop and its impressive size provides a spectacular venue for photographs. On arrival in the Barossa Valley we take you to a well known winery for a vineyard tour through 150 year old vines. Here you will have the opportunity to sample their wines. A catered gourmet lunch and another wine tasting at a Baorssa Valley winery is provided. Afterwards we visit Bethany, the oldest town in the Barossa Valley, which was established by German migrants in 1842. Our last wine tasting will be at another well known winery in the Barossa Valley. We return you to your accommodation in Adelaide around 4.30pm.

Fleurieu Peninsula Day Tour

The special service, our guests can expect on the Fleurieu Peninsula Day Tour include pick up from your accommodation in Adelaide at 9am. We then drive the scenic route to the McLaren Vale through the picturesque little township of Clarendon. Our first stop will be at one of the McLaren Vale’s well known wineries for wine tasting. Also a well known attraction in this popular area is the McLaren Vale Olive Grove. 26 different varieties of olives are grown here for pickling and oil pressing. You have the opportunity to sample some of the areas produce. A catered gourmet lunch along with way is provided. We spend the afternoon in Victor Harbor, the historic whaling town, situated on Encounter Bay. A walk to Granite Island will take us to the home of the Fairy penguins. Hopefully we will be able to see some of these cute little creatures in their burrows. We return you to your accommodation in Adelaide around 6pm.

Day One - The special service, our guests can expect on the Kangaroo Island Two Day Tour include pick up from your accommodation in Adelaide at 6am. From there you will be chauffeur driven to Adelaide Airport, Emu Airways Terminal for departure to Kingscote at 7.05am. Arriving on Kangaroo Island at 7.45am. Our tour will be conducted in a well equipped, comfortable and air conditioned four wheel drive vehicle. Seal Bay Conservation Park will be our first stop on Kangaroo Island. Another unique feature of Kangaroo Island is the Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery. This is the only Distillery still operating in South Australia. From there we make our way to Kingscote, South Australia’s first settlement, where we experience feeding Australian pelicans at the wharf. A gourmet dinner in Penneshaw will be catered for. Penneshaw is also home to the Fairy penguins and we take a guided walk to watch these cute little creatures returning to their burrows after a busy day fishing at sea. Overnight bed and breakfast accommodation on Kangaroo Island.

Day Three - After breakfast we spend the morning at American River and walk along this beautiful Bay. A catered lunch along the way is provided. The remainder of the day we will take you along the north coast, with its own special character. One of the attractions there is Stokes Bay, with a beautiful hidden beach, which can only be explored by entering through a natural rock tunnel. Our next stop will be Island Pure Sheep Dairy, where you have the opportunity to watch milking of the sheep, as well as tasting the variety of sheep cheeses and sheep yogurt that are produced at the Dairy. Before departing back to Adelaide in the late afternoon, we take the opportunity to watch some of Kangaroo Island’s birds at Duck Lagoon. Return to your accommodation in Adelaide will be around 7.35pm.

Flinders Ranges Three Day Tour

Spend three days touring the Flinders Ranges with Petra`s Tailor Made Tours who specialise in English and German speaking, small group tours of South Australia with personalised itineraries to suit your needs.

Day One - The special service, our guests can expect on the Flinders Ranges Three Day Tour include pick up from your accommodation in Adelaide at 8am. Our tour will be conducted in a well equipped, comfortable and air conditioned four wheel drive vehicle. After leaving Adelaide’s northern suburbs we drive to the Clare Valley, one of Australia’s best known wine regions. Here we visit the oldest winery Sevenhill for wine tasting, which was founded by Austrian Jesuit Monks in 1851. A lunch along the way will be provided. The tour will continue further into the South Australian grain belt, past huge grain fields to the picturesque little township of Melrose, situated at the foothills of Mount Remarkable. We will explore the main attraction of Mount Remarkable National Park, walk through Alligator Gorge and be amazed by its size and beauty. Then we continue on through Quorn and Hawker, the last settlements before reaching the South Australian outback. Our destination for the evening will be Rawnsley Park Station where we will enjoy a delicious dinner at the Woolshed Restaurant.

Day Two - Following breakfast we will visit the heart of the Flinders Ranges National Park – 100,000 hectares provide a wide range of attractions. One of the most important features is Brachina Gorge Geological Trail. The 11 kilometre trail explains the development of Australia from over 500 million years ago by the various colours in the rock layers. A lunch along the way will be provided. We then walk along Wilpena Creek, the only opening of the huge Pound surrounded by the mountain ranges, which form Wilpena Pound. We have an excellent view of the Pound and appreciate the size better from the Wilpena Pound Lookout. Arriving back at Rawnsley Park Station for our overnight stay, we will enjoy another dinner.

Day Three - Following breakfast we will drive along the beautiful Elder Ranges to Hawker and visit the Yourambulla Caves. Here we see not only Aboriginal drawings, but also enjoy an amazing view over the outback landscape, which appears to be endless. A lunch along the way will be provided. On our way back to Adelaide we will stop for afternoon tea and return to your accommodation in Adelaide will be around 7pm.
