Cleland Wildlife Park and Hahndorf Day Tour - LL01

Join Longhorn Limousines on a day tour to Cleland Wildlife Park and Hahndorf. Just twenty minutes from the Adelaide city centre you will find Cleland National Park; where you can explore some of South Australia`s diverse landscapes and meet some of the inhabitants. Visitors can feed and wander at their leisure among Kangaroos, Wallabies, Emus and Waterfowl. Australian wild dogs the dingoes, reptiles, Tasmanian Devils and Koalas, or stroll through the aviaries and marvel at the diversity of South Australian bird life.

We then travel a further 20 kilometres to the historic German town of Hahndorf, Australia`s oldest surviving German settlement, then on to Beerenberg Strawberry Farm and watch their famous jams and sauces being made. The award winning fine food producer uses the freshest farm produce and traditional recipes, if you desire you can purchase some of these from their shop. During the months of October- May have fun and pick your own strawberries, nothing like the real thing.

Just a few minutes away is the main street of Hahndorf, take a leisurely stroll down the tree lined main street, amongst the delightful shops. This historic town has well over 50 buildings of importance, today it is one of South Australia`s premier tourist attractions. There are few places in the country where you can drive through typically Australian countryside, quite suddenly, enter a world which seems to have been lifted from Central Europe.

Try the large and imported range of beers on tap or a superb meal at two award winning historic hotels the German Arms Hotel or the Hahndorf Inn, both serve traditional German fare alongside local favourites, and take in the atmosphere of these two great Australian pubs. Or try the cakes and coffees or maybe a hot and spicy goulash soup at the German Cake Shop and Bakery just off the main road.

After lunch we may even travel to the Nepenthe Winery to take in some spectacular scenery and rural countryside to taste their fabulous wines, then back to the Hans Heysen House and Studio the Cedars, the delightful home of the famous Australian landscape and still life painter Sir Hans Heysen. The studio is in pristine condition and has been virtually untouched since his death in 1968.

This day will be truly fulfilling and the memories will stay with you forever, as we slowly make our way back to Adelaide.

Longhorn Wine Tours McLaren Vale Day Tour - LL02

Longhorn Limousines will take you on this exquisite wine tour to one of South Australia`s most famous wine regions McLaren Vale.

Enter through Clarendon for our first stopover, Woodstock Winery enjoy the tastings and talk to the kangaroos, then on to Chapel Hill to view the winery and gourmet retreat. Down to Coriole Vineyards with its heritage listed barn and cottage plus fabulous cottage gardens, then on to d’Arenberg Winery housed in a 19th century homestead with one of the best views overlooking McLaren Vale. Just a stones throw down the road is Tapestry Wines owned by the prominent South Australian Robert Gerard. Further on is Maxwell’s, home of fine wines and the famous Maxwell Mead - not to be missed. Then on to Wirra Wirra home of the famous Church Block, set amongst the gums is their historic ironstone cellars. Finish off at the modern Primo Estates for a relaxing end to the day with a special tasting of their Joseph range. Relax and reflect on your McLaren Vale wine experience on the drive home.

Longhorn Wine Tours Barossa Valley Day Tour - LL03

Longhorn Limousines will take you to Australia`s best known and most important wine region, Barossa Valley is home to some of the most famous and desirable labels.

Just one hours drive north of Adelaide consisting of over 60 wineries from small family, to national companies. With thousands of hectares of meticulously maintained vineyards by over 500 grape growers, supplying over 60,000 tonnes of Barossa grapes to wineries each vintage.

We begin by heading up to Gawler and enter the Barossa Valley Way for our journey to start our day at the famous Seppelts Wines, home of the famous Para Liqueur Port. We drive through roads lined with date palms, founded in 1851 it is a national treasure. Further down the date palm lined road on a hill overlooking the Barossa, is the Seppelt family mausoleum, built in the style of a Greek Doric Temple. This is a magnificent setting for a family tomb and represents a great photo opportunity.

Just a few minutes away is the famous Maggie Beer Pheasant Farm, Maggie is renowned for her pates, her fresh seasonal produce and more recently her television cooking show and should not be missed.

A few minutes away is the Peter Lehman Winery, Peter is one of Australia`s most respected and innovative winemakers.

Then into Tanunda to spend a few minutes soaking up the unique shopping, just before we head off to Jacobs Creek Restaurant with its cellar and gallery, the home of the world famous Jacobs Creek Wines and explore contemporary Australian food in this award winning restaurant. After lunch we take time to snap some Kangaroos and Emus resting in their six-hectare enclosure.

Just down the road is Grant Burge Winery over looking some of the best gardens in the Barossa. Grant is a fifth generation member of a great wine making dynasty.

Further down the road is St Hallett Winery famous for the iconic St Hallett Old Block Shiraz made from vines aged up to 100 years old.

Close by is the Rockford Winery delivering high quality traditional wines surrounded by historic stone buildings.

Only a couple of minutes further on is Charles Melton Wines, this small Barossa winery has gained both national and international recognition for its premium red table wines.

Time to reflect on a fabulous day visiting some of Australia`s best wineries. Sit back and relax on our journey back to Adelaide, with fond memories of Australia`s premier grape growing district.

Kangaroo Island Two Day Tour - LL04

Join Longhorn Limousines on a two-day tour of Kangaroo Island.

Day One - We leave Adelaide for the trip to the Kangaroo Island SeaLink ferry at Cape Jervis. We drive our Jeep onto the ferry for the 45 minute ride to Penneshaw Kangaroo Island, on arrival we pile into the Jeep for our first stop Tourism Kangaroo Island Information Centre just up the hill, check out the gift shop packed with local goodies and start our adventure.

Just six kilometres down the road is Sunset Wines, Kangaroo Islands first dedicated cellar door, seated on their spacious deck we enjoy the stunning sea views of Easter Cove while tasting wines made from local fruit and a platter of Kangaroo Island Cheeses.

As we head to the northern coast the feeling of adventure sets in. Less than 100 kilometres of sealed highway and dirt roads is Stokes Bay, a beautiful drive and a stunning destination. We take a relaxing walk along the isolated coast, which we have all to ourselves.

Only 15 kilometres away is Andermel Marron and Two Wheeler Creek Wines. Don`t miss this culinary treat, Organic marron (freshwater crayfish) is an island icon raised in 100 per cent fresh rainwater. Chef Andrew Nelder fuses his European classics with bush tucker, creating tantalizing culinary masterpieces. Try his lemon myrtle tartare sauce and bush tomatoes and mountain pepper relish - a perfect place for an extended lunch and wine tasting.

The last 40 kilometres of our day are travelled with the satisfaction that we have enjoyed one of the best meals of our lives, wallabies dart across the road and we take it slow as we carefully make our way to our accommodation Kangaroo Island Wilderness Retreat, the heart of the retreat is the courtyard where friendly wallabies, possums and bird life frolic in the tranquil bushland garden. Feed the wallabies from your private balcony and then head to dinner at their fine restaurant.

Day Two - Relax and explore in the morning then onto Flinders Chase National Park Visitors Centre, learn all there is to know of the wildlife on Kangaroo Island, then down to Admirals Arch to watch the large colony of sea lions frolicking in the waves or just sleeping on the rocks, one of the few spots in the world that you have this opportunity. A few kilometres away is Remarkable Rocks and Australia`s best beach Vivonne Bay, make sure your camera is charged for this great photo opportunity. We cruise the 50 kilometres to Seal Bay the only accessible colony by land in the world and walk amongst the exhausted sea lions after their long fishing trips. A boardwalk also allows visitors to observe these amazing creatures in their natural habitat, great for photo opportunities.

Just a leisurely 100 kilometres back to Penneshaw, time to grab some great fish and chips, load the Jeep on the ferry and sit back and reflect on this amazing adventure. On arrival at Cape Jervis time to take a nap on the 100-kilometre trip back to Adelaide on a trip that you will treasure forever.
