Red Earth Expeditions is a 4WD adventure tour company, based in Adelaide, whose philosophy is to take visitors in comfort and safety to South Australia`s most wild, most beautiful, most rugged and most remote places.

Why Red Earth Expeditions? While we have a new name and a new company, we`ve been operating tours into remote areas for many years and our tour leaders have well over 75 years of combined experience.

Simpson Desert 12 Day Tag-Along Tour

The first white man to view the Simpson Desert was Charles Sturt in 1845 when he discovered and named Eyre Creek. Ted Colson first crossed the desert by camel in 1936 followed by Cecil Madigan in 1939, but it was not until 1962 that Reg and Griselda Sprigg and their young family accomplished the first crossing by vehicle. Experience the real outback with Red Earth Expeditions. Follow in the historic footsteps of many great Australian explorers and encounter the remoteness endured by those who journeyed here in the past.

This is a self-catered camping tour. You will need to bring your own food and drink and carry at least an extra two days food and water in case inclement weather causes track closures.

Introducing 4WD Tracks of the Flinders Ranges 12 Day Tag-Along Tour

The Flinders Ranges is a Mecca for four-wheel drive enthusiasts. It offers tracks for all skill levels and scenery that can only be accessed by a vehicle with high clearance and low range. We will travel to some of our favourite four-wheel drive destinations, starting in the southern Flinders Ranges and heading to the northernmost and second highest point able to be reached by four-wheel drive. You will have the chance to meet the people who have been living in the area for generations and listen to their stories.

We will be staying in shearers` quarters so there is no roughing it. Our goal is to give you the maximum time to enjoy one of our favourite parts of South Australia in comfort and safety.

This is a self-catered tag-along tour. The price covers two adults and one vehicle. It includes advice and support on pre-trip planning and preparation, all accommodation and track fees and dinner on the last night.

You will need to bring your own food and drink and carry at least an extra two days food and water in case inclement weather causes track closures.
