See the Aboriginal cultures gallery at the South Australian Museum. Hear stories of early Aboriginal experiences, food gathering and tool making. Walk to the Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute. Take a walk through the art gallery and visit the retail shop with a large range of Aboriginal artifacts, artworks, books and gifts.

Enjoy a leisurely stroll around the Botanic Gardens to learn about Aboriginal bush foods and plant uses. Find out about traditional duck hunting techniques, various other food gathering practices, how boomerangs are made and where to find bush medicines.

Enjoy morning tea en route in a picturesque gum tree flanked creek bed. Scenic Gorge tour through Brachina and Bunyeroo Gorges. Day Two - Enjoy a full buffet breakfast at the restaurant before venturing to Mount Chambers Gorge to see ancient Aboriginal engravings and hear a creation story that explains geographical features in the area. Break for morning tea en route including campfire, Billy tea and damper (weather permitting). Have a picnic lunch at Mount Chambers and listen to a social history talk about the Adnyamathanha people who are the local Aboriginal land custodians. Head back to Wilpena via Parachilna Gorge to the famous Prairie Hotel at Parachilna for an afternoon drink. Then continue the gorge tour back through the scenic Brachina and Bunyeroo Gorges to view the magnificent geological formations and look for Yellow-footed Rock Wallabies and other wildlife. Dine at Wilpena Pound Resort Restaurant.
Day Three - After breakfast, choose from a peaceful walk along the beautiful creek to Wangarra lookout for a spectacular view inside Wilpena Pound, or a tour of Old Wilpena Station. Taking in the `Living With Land` interpretative trail where you will gain insight into isolated pastoral settlement life. Then morning tea before embarking on a tour to Arkaroo Rock to see ancient Aboriginal paintings and hear an Adnyamathanha Dreaming story. Visit historic Hawker township and the Wilpena Panorama Gallery to see a magnificent 360 degree painting of Wilpena Pound and other locally produced art, craft and food. Have lunch before leaving for Adelaide.

Morning tea at the foreshore and visit Wadlata Outback Centre in Port Augusta for hands on interpretive displays about the history and culture of the Flinders Ranges. Lunch at Wadlata Outback Centre. Visit the famous Prairie Hotel at Parachilna for an afternoon drink. Pass through the outback towns of Leigh Creek and Copley. Dinner at Iga Warta and taste traditional foods such as kangaroo and quandong. Retire to Iga Warta`s safari tent and awaken to a beautiful sunrise and view of the mountains.
Day Two - Enjoy a morning tour to Red Gorge and take a walk through the spectacular trade route of Red Gorge and see Aboriginal engravings. Relax in the tranquil surroundings for morning tea. Tour to Mineruta and learn about the social history of the Adnyamathanha people told at Ram Paddock Gate. In the afternoon we go to Malkii Cave. Take a scenic walk through a creek bed to see ancient Aboriginal cave paintings and hear interpretations and an Adnyamathanha Dreaming story. Return to Iga Warta to take a walk or swim in the pool or just relax in the peaceful surroundings. Campfire Evening with Iga Warta hosts – a night around the campfire with music, Adnyamathanha Yura Muda (stories), and traditionally cooked damper.
Day Three - Take a tour to the Ochre Pits to see the colours of ochre and learn about its traditional uses. Morning tea in Main Creek – Billy tea and damper. Pass through Nepabunna, Ithala Awi (Italowie Gap) and visit (time permitting) Balcanoona Ranger Headquarters. Tour and lunch at Mount Chambers Gorge where you will see ancient Aboriginal engravings and hear a creation story that explains the geographical features in the area. In the afternoon we take a scenic drive through Brachina and Bunyeroo Gorges on the way to Wilpena Pound Resort. View the magnificent geological rock formation and see Yellow-footed Rock Wallabies and other wildlife. Dinner at the Wilpena Pound Resort Restaurant and retire to the Resorts deluxe accommodation.
Day Four - Enjoy a buffet breakfast at Wilpena Pound Resort Restaurant. After breakfast, choose from these two options. Option one – take relaxing and peaceful walk following the beautiful creek to Wangarra lookout for a spectacular view inside Wilpena Pound. Morning tea en route (two hour return walk) or Option two - a tour of Old Wilpena Station. Extra charge AUD80.00 per person, minimum two people. Bookings essential. Lunch at Wilpena Pound Resort restaurant. After lunch take a tour of Old Wilpena Station. Taking in the `Living With Land` interpretative trail where you will gain insight into isolated pastoral settlement life (one or two hours return walk). Return to Wilpena to relax, have a swim or visit the information centre. Dinner at the Wilpena Pound Resort Restaurant.

Day One - Travel north from Adelaide to the Flinders Ranges. Enjoy morning tea on the Port Augusta foreshore and visit the Wadlata Outback Centre. Travel on to historic Quorn for lunch at the friendly Austral Hotel. Visit an Aboriginal Rock Art site to hear the interpretations and stories featuring local knowledge and culture. Pass by historic Hawker to experience the vast and diverse landscapes of the Aussie outback. Arrive at the famous Prairie Hotel at Parachilna for check in and afternoon tea. After freshening up, we journey to a local Gorge to marvel at the landscape and spy for the endangered yellow footed rock wallabies. Return to the Prairie Hotel for dinner from their famous Australian bush foods menu and an evening experiencing the old charm and luxury of this outback pub.
Day Two - After breakfast, we tour through the townships of Leigh Creek and Copley with morning tea en route. Visit a spectacular secluded Gorge. Here we learn about Aboriginal etchings dating back many thousands of years. Take a break in this peaceful location for a picnic lunch featuring billy tea and damper (weather permitting). After lunch, travel south to take in the sights of Parachilna Gorge en route to historic Blinman. Take a break with a quick pit stop at the Blinman Hotel or a delightful hot drink at the Wild Lime Cafe. Travel south passing many distinct geographical features of Aboriginal significance before arriving at Rawnsley Park Station. Check in at the luxurious eco-villas at Rawnsley Park, relax, and dine on gourmet cuisine in their unique Woolshed Restaurant. After dinner take the time to relax and enjoy the surrounds of your five star eco-villa
Day Three - After breakfast choose between a one hour guided horse trek through beautiful bushland scenery (extra cost – AUD50.00 per person) or a 30 minute scenic flight that will take you over Wilpena Pound (extra cost -AUD110.00 per person) or relax on your eco-villa deck and enjoy the scenery for a little bit longer. Depart Rawnsley Park and visit the Wilpena Panorama Gallery in Hawker. Then travel on to the wine district of Clare Valley for lunch at Skillogalee Restaurant. Enjoy the afternoon by visiting two renowned boutique cellar door wineries. Depart for Adelaide and conclude the tour at your original pick-up point.

Dine at the Wilpena Pound Resort restaurant and then check out the bar or retire to the deluxe accommodation for the evening.
Day Two - Enjoy a full breakfast at the restaurant. Visit a Gorge to see ancient Aboriginal Engravings and hear a creation story that explains the geographical features in the area. Break for a bush food morning tea in the picturesque surroundings of the tree lined creek bed. Travel to the Prairie Hotel at Parachilna for their famous `Prairie on a Plate` lunch. Enjoy a scenic gorge tour back through the Ranges to view spectacular landscapes featuring magnificent geological formations. Search for the endangered yellow-footed rock wallabies, kangaroos, emus and other wildlife. Travel on to Quorn to Pichi Richi Camel Farm for a `Camel to Candlelight Dinner`. Ride your camel through beautiful bushland to a secluded cottage for Native Australian cuisine (three course dinner) and Australian beer or wine. Return to Quorn for your overnight accommodation at the Austral Hotel.
Day Three - Start the new day with a continental breakfast. Take in a drive through the Southern Flinders Ranges while on route to the renowned Clare Valley region. Stop and enjoy a bush foods morning tea at Gladstone where we visit the historic old Gladstone Gaol. Then we head back on track for our date with fine wine and fare in the celebrated Clare Valley. There are ample boutique Cellar Door wineries to provide the fitting end to this gourmet tour. Have lunch at Skillogalee Restaurant. Enjoy local cuisine in this delightful 140-year-old stone settler`s cottage, nestled among the green, wooded hills of the Skillogalee Valley. Take the opportunity to taste Skillogalee`s premium trophy winning wines. Secure in the knowledge that you have explored all that is on offer, we depart for Adelaide and the conclusion of the tour.

The Central Flinders offers secret caves and gorgeous gorges and is home to the awesome amphitheatre of Wilpena Pound, while the Northern Flinders offers everything spectacular from the Aboriginal culture, the colours, the starry skies, the bounding kangaroos to the rugged peaks at sunset.
The South Australian Outback brings wide-open spaces, outback characters and underground dwellings, vast pastoral properties and proud towns. Wake early to beautiful sunrise, travel under brilliant blue skies, and then rest under night skies revealing stars you’ve never seen before. Follow the famous Outback tracks or discover our opal townships. The Outback is big on first impressions.
Day One: Adelaide to Wilpena Pound.
Travel with Haydyn Bromley of the multiple award winning Bookabee Australia to the Central Flinders Ranges. Head north from Adelaide to Port Augusta and visit the Wadlata Outback Centre for hands-on interpretive displays about the history and culture of the Flinders Ranges and outback life. After lunch, travel on to visit an Aboriginal Site with ancient cave paintings, and hear the mysterious story about this site. Head on to Wilpena Pound Resort. Nestled at the base of Wilpena Pound, Wilpena Pound Resort is on the banks of Wilpena Creek in the Flinders Ranges, amid the stately red gums and native pines.

Day Two - Wilpena Pound to Arkaroola.
Start the day with an early morning scenic flight where you will marvel at one of Australia’s most dramatic sights, the magnificent natural amphitheatre of Wilpena Pound. Take in a bird`s eye view of the majesty of Wilpena, including St Mary`s Peak and Sacred Canyon, as you fly over this vast, ancient and unspoilt landscape which shelters both rare and abundant wildlife, fossils and sacred Aboriginal art.
Continue travelling through the Flinders Ranges for a unique Aboriginal cultural experience. Listen to creation stories of the Adnyamathanha people at traditional significant sites and see ancient paintings and engravings. Learn about the history of the area amid the beautiful Ranges landscape with rugged mountains, scenic gorges, ruins of early settlement and abundant wildlife. Stop at Weetootla Gorge and look for the endangered Yellow-Footed Rock Wallabies before arriving at Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary. Overnight at Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary.
Arkaroola is a spectacular wildlife sanctuary with fascinating geological formations, featuring rugged mountains; towering granite peaks, magnificent gorges and mysterious waterholes, and is the home to over 160 species of birds and the shy and endangered Yellow-footed Rock-wallaby.
Day Three - Arkaroola.
Set out in the morning with a visit to Stubbs waterhole and an ochre wall in Welcome Pound. Learn about the traditional medicinal and ceremonial uses of ochre. After lunch take the afternoon Ridge Top tour. The Ridge Top tour is one of the most exciting tourist drives in the Flinders Ranges and has been described as `the most spectacular mountain scenic tour in Australia`. Narrow tracks scramble over fantastic climbs and along razor back ridges, and plunge periodically into deep valleys and gorges. The tour passes the site of Australia`s 1910 Radium discovery, and includes Mt Gee, a unique mountain of quartz crystal lined cavities. Sillers Lookout, at the climax of the tour, provides unforgettable views taking in the Freeling Heights, Yuda Gorge, Lake Frome and the giant fossil-bearing Lake Callabonna.
Embark on an evening tour of the Astronomical Observatory. Arkaroola is one of the best places in the Southern Hemisphere for viewing the stars at night. A large computer driven astronomical observatory offers an expert nightly tour through the universe. Overnight at Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary.
Day Four - Arkaroola to Rawnsley Park Station.
This morning travel through the Northern Flinders Ranges. We stop briefly at Ithala Awi (Italowie Gorge) to learn about bush tucker. Visit Nepabunna Aboriginal Community the original mission of the local Adnyamathanha Aboriginal people. Continue to a local Adnyamathanha rock painting site to see traditional paintings dating back thousands of years. Stop at Mineruta (Ram Paddock Gate) a historical site that was once the original Nepabunna community, and learn about the social history of the Adnyamathanha people. From here we visit a spectacular gorge (that is not accessible to the public), once a traditional trade route with ancient Aboriginal rock engravings dating back thousands of years. For lunch we drop past the Quandong Café at Copley. Travelling back on the highway we pass Leigh Creek before heading into Brachina and Bunyeroo Gorge before checking into Rawnsley Park Station. Stay in award winning luxury accommodation at a working sheep station. Here you can experience a slice of authentic Australian country life.
Enjoy dinner in the Woolshed Restaurant and head back to soak up to stylish Villas for an evening in luxury.
The Nepabunna Community Council is a local government area situated on Adnyamathanha land in the remote north east area of South Australia. Originally established as a mission in the 1930`s, the community became a council in 1998 and is now part of the Local Government Association of South Australia.
Nepabunna Community Incorporated manages the town under an Aboriginal Lands Trust lease that expires in 2081. The steps to independent management began in the early-mid 90s when `Nantawarrina` was a property in serious difficulty. Nepabunna Adnyamathanha Village: population: 50 is reinventing itself and emerging as a cultural tourism destination in the northern Flinders Ranges. Currently it has shared dorm accommodation for up to 40 guests, whilst plans are to develop a range of accommodation to cater across the accommodation range including high-end Safari tents. The Community has also commenced development of a cultural interpretation centre and guided tours are available at the local council office. Overnight at Rawnsley Park Station.
Day Five - Rawnsley Park Station to Adelaide.
After breakfast, we head to a local Aboriginal rock art-painting site and hear the story of the creation of the Wilpena Pound. Then we travel to the Clare Valley for a spot of wine tasting with lunch en route to Adelaide.
Less than a two hour drive from Adelaide, the Clare Valley is renowned for the finer things in life: delicious gourmet food, a rich heritage, and world-class wines. Visitors can stroll between cellar doors, dine at a variety of quality restaurants and cafes, or cycle along the region’s famous Riesling Trail. Clare Valley is also known for its natural beauty: with its rolling vineyards, farmland and historical stone ruins, the region is a slice of country paradise.
