Jan is a local tour operator, born and bred in Tanunda, so she knows the Barossa Valley well. Jan specialises in tours of boutique wineries and knows where to take you for those special reds and whites, whichever is your preference. If you have some wineries you wish to visit, that is fine, they can be worked into your itinerary. If your preference is for a heritage tour, Barossa Getaway Tours is for you. Jan can show you the old Lutheran churches, Goat Square in Tanunda, the homes of early settlers, the primary school that Jan attended, the Seppelts mausoleum, Collingrove Homestead, to name a few. Your tour could include a visit to the Whispering Wall, the `Hill of Roses` the Chateau at Yaldara, the Keg Factory, the first German settlement in the Barossa Valley, Mengler Hill lookout, Angas Park Fruits and of course the local bakeries. You will be driven in a classic 1963 Chevrolet Belair, fully restored, fitted with air conditioning and modern stereo system. The vehicle is a very spacious, comfortable classic car that seats up to six people with ease and a huge boot for all of your winery purchases.
