Alligator Gorge within Mount Remarkable National Park is the premier natural attraction in the Southern Flinders Ranges. This spectacular gorge cut through ancient quartzite by the Alligator Creek is easily accessible to visitors along a ten minute walking trail. Toilets, a picnic area and barbecue facilities are provided for visitors who can spend an hour or full day exploring the network of walking trails surrounding the gorge. Wildflowers and native orchids are abundant through spring.

Accommodation is available at Alligator Lodge (sleeps eight to ten) located near the northern entrance to the park. This spacious three bedroom self-contained lodge at Alligator Gorge is surrounded by nature. The lounge room`s floor to ceiling windows provides stunning views of the surrounding bush.
