The annual Mary Poppins Festival is a magical celebration of the achievements of Maryborough born author Pamela Lyndon Travers. With a spoonful of imagination, Maryborough`s riverside parks and heritage streetscapes are transformed into scenes like the pages of the Poppins novels.
A host of characters familiar to millions of fans around the world will come to life creating a fantasy experience for both young and old. Special Mary Poppins themed activities include kite flying, sidewalk art, nanny races and chimney sweep challenges. In the hilarious Nanny Challenge, nannies and would be nannies around the world are invited to prove their pram-pushing prowess in a madcap race.
Entertainment includes magicians, puppets, costume parades, street theatre performers, steam trains rides, vintage cars, penny farthing and unicycles, market and food stalls, art workshops, rides and traditional games.
