A unique and rewarding experience, this adventure allows plenty of freedom in activities including swimming, photography, bushwalking and exploring. Away form the `crowds` in the first gorges, experience the majesty of the third and fourth gorges before camping overnight in the fifth gorge. The sixth and seventh gorges can be explored on the second day, prior to retuning to the Nitmiluk Centre with a new found respect for this truly amazing attraction.
A great way to explore the gorges according to your own itinerary and fitness level. Take in the diversity of landscape and habitats as you paddle your way through the gorges, a visual treat for any nature lover. Experienced canoeists will reach the end of the fourth gorge, where there are more Jawoyn paintings to view and a picnic spot perfect for lunch and a refreshing swim.
This option is all about freedom. Explore the first gorge at a relaxed pace in a single or double canoe. You will have plenty of time to admire the imposing sandstone cliffs and wildlife, enjoy a swim, follow a bushwalk trail or enjoy a picnic.
The paddling distance is just over seven kilometres return.
