Set on two and a half acres with peaceful surroundings, amongst large leafy trees Henry Kendall Cottage was once a home for pioneer poet Henry Kendall. One room contains some of the poet’s possessions, while the remaining rooms are furnished as an old cottage.
The cottage was built by Peter Fagan with convict labour. It was built from various shapes and sizes of sandstone gathered from around the property. Some still have oyster shells embedded in them. A slab washhouse and two-seater pit `dunny` complete the cottage setting.
A spacious Historical Museum now displays a wide variety of items from the past including typewriters, bottles and old memorabilia. A slab shed contains tools and farm machinery.
Barbecue and picnic facilities available with wood provided.
