Milparinka Heritage Walk

A heritage walk around the old streetscpae of Milparinka includes significant locations such as the early post office, the first Commercial Bank in the far west, the Milparinka Public School and its mosaic laid down almost 100 years ago, and the Albert Hotel, built in 1882. A side walk includes recently survey home blocks marked with owners' names, whilst a short drive ( or walk) away is the cemetery. Sturts Steps Touring Route

Sturt's Steps Touring Route is an unsigned route linking Broken Hill with Tibooburra. It follows approximately the route taken by Captain Charles Sturt in 1845 as he led an exploration team into Inland Australia. The route follows main roads across the region from just north of Broken Hill, across the Barrier Ranges, onto the red sand plain adjacent to the wild dog fence, before linking back to the north east and on to Milparinka.
