Welcome to the Coolamon Shire – a community that can truly be described as “The Heart of Rural Heritage”.
Coolamon and the shire’s smaller towns of Ganmain, Ardlethan, Marrar, Matong and Beckom are rich in examples of built, movable and natural heritage. All communities exude their own individual history, character and charm.
The shire’s four museums provide insight into the joys and hardships of rural life. Step back in time when you visit Coolamon’s Up-to-Date Store and the Garth Jones Agricultural Collection; its Railway Station and RSL Museums; and Ganmain’s Historical Museum and Hay Interpretive Centre.
Be tantalised when you browse through the local antique stores, local crafts & arts outlets.
Enjoy true country hospitality whilst visiting one of our excellent eateries, hotels and accommodation facilities.
