Nestled in the bald hills surrounding the historic mining town of Burra is this rustic heritage stone cottage built in 1892. The property features a rustic little stone cottage behind the country farmhouse. Your cottage has a queen bed (with electric blankets) and lounge with log fire in winter. A kitchenette is provided for you to self prepare breakfasts. A separate bedroom with a double bed is also available. The heritage country style bathroom runs on rainwater harvested from your cottage roof. You are in a wheat/sheep farming area with merino sheep grazing up the hill and wheat fields in front of the cottage. You have a view across the heritage town that takes in all three of the mining chimneys plus the large stone pumphouse. You will often see kangaroos in the adjoining paddocks. Just 3 kilometers from the center of town you will find plenty to do. Follow the heritage trail with your `key to the town', wander through the antique shops, stroll through the galleries and museums or feed the friendly ducks on the creek. If you are looking to dine at La Pecora Nera (The Black Sheep) Restaurant in Burra you should make a prior booking.
