Stenhouse Bay - Costing a total of 11,000 Pounds to build, Althorpe Island`s Lighthouse was made out of a mixture of limestone and hard sandstone quarried from the Island. Powered by twin diesel generator sets and a 120 volt 1000 watt Tungsten Halogen lamp, it was first lit on 14 February 1879 and continued to shine for 112 years.

Stenhouse Bay - Easily accessed through Innes National Park, a short walk takes you to the tower itself with a magnificent view overlooking Althorpe Island and on a clear day all the way across to Kangaroo Island.
An automatic beacon was commissioned in 1950, with a major upgrade taking place in 1970 to the cement structure you can see today. Standing 78 metres above sea level and powered by a 120 volt 1000 watt Tungsten Halogen Lamp, Cape Spencer Lighthouse has a light range of 23 nautical miles.

Corny Point - Completed in 1882 and made of limestone, quarried from a nearby farm. De-manned in 1920, the light continued to shine until 11 December 1942, when a Japanese invasion was feared and it was turned off for several weeks. It was converted to electricity in 1978.
Entries from the light keeper`s logs describe how it survived earthquakes and other natural phenomenon such as seeing meteors flying past. Today the lighthouse reserve is open to the public.

Kadina - Kadina Golf course is a par 72, 5851 metres and has an Australian course rating 68. Ladies golf day is on Tuesdays and the mens golf day is on Wednesday and Saturdays.

Moonta Mines - The National Trust Miners Cottage is a typical Cornish cottage built about 1870 and furnished in the pre-1900 period. Built of wattle and daub, mud bricks, clay and limestone and given a coat of plaster and whitewashed, many of these cottages were to be found throughout the mine residential area.

Moonta Mines - Moonta Mines Sweet Shop is located in the former Moonta Mines Post Office built in 1946 and operated as a Post Office until the mid 1970s. The building was refurbished as a shop in 1979 and upgraded by the National Trust in 1998. The Sweet Shop sells a large range of old-fashioned sweets and drinks.
Moonta - A 50 minute round trip by narrow gauge rail, passes the reservoir and ore sorting floors then through a tunnel in Ryan`s Tailings Heap.
It visits the former Precipitations Works for an inspection of the story of copper recovery and then onto the Moonta Railway Station to begin the return journey.

Moonta - This beautiful old building was erected by Gambling and Son of Adelaide and opened in 1909. It replaced an old timber and iron station, which was erected in 1878. Measuring 32 metres high, Troubridge Hill Lighthouse has a light range of 22 nautical miles and operates off mains electricity with a backup generator.
Edithburgh - The second lighthouse to be built in South Australia, Troubridge Island lighthouse was completed in 1855 and was the first Australian lighthouse to be built of cast iron. After the ship `Marion` was wrecked on what is now known as Marion Reef, the Government investigated, building a lighthouse on Troubridge Island.

Wardang Island Maritime Heritage Trail
Port Victoria - Eight shipwrecks located around Wardang Island, near Port Victoria in Spencer Gulf, have been marked as part of this trail. Port Victoria, on the west coast of Yorke Peninsula, was an important trading port in the early 1900s and was one of the last Australian ports to see large square-rigged sailing vessels operate on a commercial basis. The last `Grain Race` from Australia to Britain began from Port Victoria in 1949.

Stenhouse Bay - Constructed of stainless steel and built in 1980, West Cape is a fully automated lighthouse, standing 67 metres above sea level with a range of 22 nautical miles. There is no access directly to the lighthouse that is positioned at the end of the headland, however, it can be viewed from a lookout at the West Cape car park
Moonta - The Wheal Hughes underground copper mine at Moonta is an exciting adventure with visitors donning boots, hard hats and helmet lights. They descend to a depth of 55 metres to experience the massive chambers with multicoloured veins of ore and learn how Cornish miners worked in the 1800s.

Wool Bay - Wool Bay is an attractive small seaside town situated between Stansbury and Coobowie.
Wool Bay Golf Club is a non-irrigated nine-hole course with scrapes.
This course is 5,635 metres and has a Par 70 with an Australian Course Rating 66.
On Tuesday and Saturday each week in the afternoon we hold men and women`s competitions.
