      • Aboriginal Heritage Walk

        Deniliquin - The Aboriginal Heritage Walking Track, in the Deniliquin State Forest, was
        developed by the local community.

      • Deniliquin Gardens

        Deniliquin GardensDeniliquin - The Deniliquin homestead gardens offers the visitor the opportunity to view
        six homesteads that have opened their gardens to the public.

        The gardens range from cottage style to the more traditional rose gardens.
        Some homesteads offer morning and afternoon tea, and a tour of a working farm.

        Please contact the tourist information centre for more information and a route
        map for the gardens.

        Coach tours can be organised.

      • Deniliquin Historic Buildings

        Deniliquin Historic BuildingsDeniliquin - The streets of Deniliquin are home to some wonderful historic buildings.

        Construction of the Court House on Poictiers Street commenced in December 1883, however it was not occupied until 1892. It has recently been painted in heritage colours and is surrounded by spacious grounds. The building is still in use today and is an impressive site by day or night.

      • Deniliquin Island Sanctuary

        Deniliquin - The Island Sanctuary, situated in the centre of town, opposite the Town Hall, is an oasis of 14 acres of natural river red gum forest. An ideal picnic area, the sanctuary is abound with native flora and fauna.

        Over 100 different species of bird life have been observed in the sanctuary. Many of these species can be seen whilst exploring the walking tracks. Kangaroos can also be seen, often laying about under a tree to escape the warm weather.

        Deniliquin - The monthly market offers a vast array of craft stalls, fruit and vegetables, plants, clothes, food stalls and much more.

      • Peppin Heritage Centre

        Deniliquin - The Peppin Heritage Centre is the Riverina`s showcase of the sheep and rice
        industry.

        Come face to face with the big merino, a major part of Deniliquin`s history,
        or experience a school lesson with a `highly innovative` teacher in the
        original George Street School room.

        There are two 14-minute video`s devoted to the rice growing and sheep
        industries, which are available for viewing in the special theatre.

      • Ute On The Pole

        Ute On The PoleDeniliquin - In 1999 Deniliquin held the inaugural `Deni Play on the Plains Festival`. Part of the festival was the World Record Ute Muster, which attracted 2,839 Utes to Deniliquin and set a Guinness World Record.

        The festival in 2000 attracted twenty thousand visitors and broke the record with 2,990 Utes assembled.

        To promote the festival and Deniliquin as the `Ute Capital of the World`, a WB Holden Ute was erected on a six metre high pole. The Ute is complete with an engine.
