West Pennant Hills - Cumberland State Forest, located in metropolitan Sydney, contains 40 hectares of native forest. The original privately-owned land was cleared in 1908. In 1938 its management was taken over by the then NSW Forestry Commission, and one third of the land was planted as an arboretum while the rest was allowed to regenerate naturally. West Pennant Hills - Come and cuddle up to a koala! At the Koala Park Sanctuary koalas are on show all day, everyday. Shows are daily at 10.20 a.m., 11.45 a.m., 2.00 p.m. and 3.00 p.m., where you can cuddle, feed, pat, and have your photo taken with the koalas.
