The Gravity Discovery Centre
The Gravity Discovery Centre integrates art, science and technology and provides a cross cultural understanding of cosmology from the Dreamtime to the Big Bang Theory. The centre is a self-supportive, non-profit enterprise dedicated to public education.
The newly completed 45m tall Leaning Tower of Gingin is an amazing structure and a great addition to the Gravity Discovery Centre. It has been modelled on the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy, where Galileo originally conducted his experiments on gravity. Visitors can climb the Tower and enjoy spectacular view of the surrounding countryside.
The Cosmology Gallery displays art works from diverse cultural backgrounds as well as a timeline of the universe depicted through photographs, poetry and text. It is situated next to the Leaning Tower and features Australia’s biggest multimedia projection dome.
There is so much on offer at the Gravity Discovery Centre including interactive displays that give visitors exposure to the big questions of science and the universe and guided nature walks in the surrounding pristine bush.
The centre offers programs for all levels of school groups (bookings are essential for groups). The Stargazers Cafe caters for schools and tour groups, as well as functions at the venue or elsewhere.
